About Us

 Institute for Disability Training -IDT is a newly registered Technical and vocational center registered with the ministry of education under TVET and an affiliate of Deaf Outreach program whose main mission is to Skill Deaf youth with marketable skills for Market need.

In Deaf Outreach Program work with Deaf schools and the broader Deaf education landscape we realized unacceptable gap in the transition of Deaf learners from high school to higher institution of learning ,with over 70% of Deaf high school graduates lacking transition opportunity to further their education in and preparation for career growth and independence due to the language barrier, as most institutions do not use sign language as a language of instruction as well as poverty high prevalence in most families.

As a result, we have a significant number of young Deaf individuals who struggle to engage in decent livelihoods or gain equitable advantage in the job market. Which is unacceptable to us, as we firmly believe that every Deaf child is entitled to quality education that prepares them for a successful and fulfilling future.

We believe that by providing technical and vocational training programs and resources, and by leveraging sign language and inclusive teaching methods as well as technology, we can equip Deaf youth with the marketable skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s job market.
